Quest Fragrance Division creates and manufactures fragrance compounds
and materials, cosmetic ingredients and dental flavours for use in
a wide range of consumer products. The division employs about 1,500
people including 60 perfumers in its creative and regional centres
in the UK, the Netherlands, France, the USA, Brazil, Indonesia and
Japan. Working in multi-disciplinary teams involving research chemists,
marketing experts, fragrance evaluators and local account executives,
the businesses are organised into specialist groups:
o Fine Fragrance - based in creative centres in Paris and New York,
this group creates fragrances for many famous fragrance houses and
fashion designers.
o Personal Care - produces fragrances for bath, shower, haircare and
other toiletry products such as deodorants and anti-perspirants. The
group also encompasses the Oral Care and Cosmetic Ingredients groups.
o Household and Fabrics - produces fragrances for functional products
such as household cleaners and laundry detergents. This team combines
creativity with technology to provide fragrances which complement
and enhance products used by consumers worldwide.
o Fragrance Materials - in addition to the creative art of perfumery,
the Fragrance Division also designs and manufactures fragrance materials.
The materials provide novel and functional ingredients unique to Quest
which enhance the work of its perfumers. The Fragrance Materials business
also sells to third parties in the fragrance industry.
All the product groups are supported by Quest Fragrance R&D, centred
at the divisional headquarters in Ashford.
