Quest's Food Division is one of the leading businesses in flavours and food ingredients. Its products are used in a wide range of consumer products, in end uses which include snacks, sauces, soups, meat products, cereals, bakery products, dairy, ice creams, confectionery, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

The lead flavour creation, food application and product development centre is at Naarden in the Netherlands, supporting regional technical centres in the USA, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, Indonesia and Japan. Proximity to local customers is achieved through an extensive network of local technical centres.

Quest has a strong presence in natural and nature-identical flavours, and in sweet, savoury and culinary applications. A deep understanding of local consumer preferences, combined with in-depth skills in flavour creation and sensory analysis is a major source of competitive strength. The development of unique flavour ingredients adds further to creativity in taste.

Functional food ingredients comprise emulsifiers, hydrocolloids and specialty proteins, used to give structure, stability and shelf-life in a wide variety of food products.

Bio-ingredients are food ingredients and processing aids, produced through the natural process of fermentation, and used to give taste, mouthfeel, structure and shelf-life to a wide range of food and beverages.

In addition to its divisional and regional technical centres, there are process and product support centres at Maarssen (the Netherlands), Menstrie (Scotland) and Rochester, Norwich and Silverton (USA).
