ICI's international businesses are headed by an Executive Vice President (EVP). Each is responsible for the financial performance of the business under the strategic general guidance of the Executive Management Team. Specialist functions such as Group Strategy and Control, Purchasing, Finance, Legal, Information Services, Safety, Health and the Environment, Human Resources and Public Affairs ensure the businesses receive the highest standards of support in each area. Country managers - those in over 55 countries in which ICI has a significant presence - provide the operational capability and local perspective, and assist the heads of the international businesses in the strategic development of the businesses in their territory. Overall, ICI's management structure places an emphasis on understanding and responding to customer requirements, clear accountabilities and the delivery of agreed financial targets. The Group aligns its senior executive compensation to the growth in economic profit.
